City centre employers are considering moving out to the ring road to give their staff and customers easier access, say property agents FPD Savills.
The agents are marketing the Hartwell garage site at Botley, which is to be rebuilt as offices.
Hartwell's Ford dealership is moving to the Oxford Motor Park in Kidlington. The Botley site has planning permission for a new wing of 28,000 sq ft and for other wings to be refurbished. The tower, a landmark known locally as "Botley cathedral" will remain.
Richard Venables, of FPD Savills, said: "Botley is recognised as a key business location and gives the best of both worlds in terms of access to the A34 and the city centre without the problems of congestion which dog the central areas."
Mr Venables said they were in discussion with several potential occupiers.
He added: "The larger city centre occupiers are seirously considering the benefits of a ring road site for ease of access for staff and visitors."
