Preparations are underway for Wantage's first mid-summer ball.
Around 150 people are expected to join the black tie event at Wantage Civic Hall, next month. The ball will be the first public ball of its type in the town, and is set to become an annual event. It follows last month's successful Mayor's Ball, which raised cash for local charities.
The ball will take place on Saturday, June 23 and will feature the Oxford-based string quartet Marilla, a magician, impersonator, band, buffet and a disco. It will end at 2am with a champagne breakfast.
