Flooding problems around Henley are to be one of the first items on the agenda for the new Cabinet running South Oxfordshire District Council.
Cllr David Sloan, who represents the town, wants a liaison group set up to discuss the issue and to sort out solutions.
He is seeking a round-the-table meeting between Oxfordshire County Council, Henley Town Council, Bix and Assendon Parish Council and Pishill with Stonor Parish Council.
The heavy rain over recent months raised the water table and local springs which had run without problem for years surged through road surfaces.
The floods hit Assendon and Henley and closed local roads.
