A council is sticking to its guns and demanding a speed cut on its bypass so that children can cross it safely.
Thame Town Council wants the limit on the road past Lea Park Estate to be cut from 50mph to 40mph from Aylesbury Road to Chinnor Road. It is putting in a pedestrian crossing controlled by traffic lights so children can cross it safely to a new recreation ground.
Oxfordshire County Council says it would rather impose a 40mph on just part of the road.
