Carterton Town lifted the Hellenic League's Complete Music Cup 7-6 on penalties in a dramatic sudden death shoot-out against treble-chasing Swindon Supermarine at Fairford Town last night.
The final finished 2-2 after normal time and with extra time failing to produce a winner, the match went to penalties.
Both sides were successful with their first five spot-kicks to force sudden death.
And it was Carterton who kept their nerve as they scored twice more before Supermarine blazed their second sudden death penalty over the bar.
Carterton had taken the lead in the 40th minute with a stunning 30-yard drive by young Kevin Lewis.
Two minutes into the second half, Peter Farrow scrambled an equaliser for holders Supermarine.
But Carterton regained the lead in the 70th minute when Steve Foster was brought down in the area and Jason Cook fired home the penalty.
However, former Oxford City striker Tate Hulbert grabbed a second equaliser for Supermarine in the 82nd minute.
