Adam Clarke overcame leukaemia to fulfil his dream of riding a motorbike - only to have his most treasured possession stolen by thieves.
Ten year-old Adam, of Rosamund Road, Wolvercote, Oxford, had a bone marrow transplant two years ago.
Adam ClarkeOnly recently, after a long battle against a host of associated health problems, has he been strong enough to have a ride on the green Kawasaki 60cc worth £800 he got for his birthday in April.
His parents, Nicky and Eddie Clarke, said it was stolen from a locked shed at their home. Mrs Clarke said: "It is just so mean. He has always had a huge interest in motorbikes. It has been his dream to have a bike and he deserves it. He has had leukaemia since the age of four and has spent a lot of time in hospital."
A police spokesman said: "Regardless of whether the thieves knew the boy was ill, this crime has obviously left him and his family very upset."
