Canal carp expert Ron Barrett made up for lost time after the lifting of the foot and mouth restrictions by landing this fine 14-pounder from his local stretch of the Oxford Canal at Kidlington.
He used freelined bread to tempt the fish, which he described as "the most beautiful fish I've ever caught."
Despite discussing the capture with his angling pals, Ron was not certain on the type of fish it was, saying that it could have been a Koi or a Ghost carp.
We reckon it is a golden-coloured 'common'.
