Pavements in parts of Witney town centre are to get a facelift.
The work is part of a major scheme to renew the footpaths and road surface in High Street.
Planners hope to use the opportunity to install cabling ducts for new CCTV anti-crime cameras.
The county council's highways department has scheduled the work for August, taking in the High Street from Welch Way to Bridge Street.
Pavement repairs will include parts of the High Street up to Market Square.
Martin Turner, the county's Witney depot engineer, said: "We have had complaints about the state of the footpaths. There are numerous problems with the slabs and it is time they were put right.
"We are programming the work to avoid major disruption and hope to incorporate the CCTV operation into it."
The camera scheme has received Government funds. Problems with meeting the running costs can now be resolved, according to a report to West Oxfordshire District Council.
Businesses have committed more than £10,000 towards the £76,000 costs for the first year, with the rest coming from councils, police and the chamber of trade.
The cameras will be put up in the town centre, covering Market Square, High Street, part of Corn Street and Welch Way and the two public car parks.
