Berinsfield youngster Simon Welch finished the season with a bang at a show at Willenhall.
Welch was up against the more experienced Daniel McDaid (Ironworks BC), the Midland Counties 57k champion and a finalist at the English Schoolboy Championships, but boxed superbly to take a unanimous points decision.
Clubmate Michael Lobb wasted no time in seeing off the challenge of Ben Bacon (Nottingham) in his 60k contest.
Lobb forced a standing eight count early on and more pressure resulted in the referee stopping the contest in the first.
The third Berinsfield boxer in acction, light welterweight Ben Stewart, was not so fortunate, losing out on a controversial points decision to Willenhall's Ralph Foster.
Foster was down twice in the opening round and was docked a point in the second and third rounds for holding.
Despite that, the home boxer took a majority points decision, leaving Berinsfield officials mystified.
