A local authority that sold all its council homes is having to rethink its housing strategy.
West Oxfordshire District Council is undertaking the review following the transfer of 3,600 properties in March this year. Former council tenants are now under the management of West Oxfordshire Housing.
One of the first tasks of the district council is to find the land to build 400 to 500 new affordable homes in the next five years.
Andrew Tucker, director of planning, says: "The target will not be easy to achieved. It will be vitally important to ensure that land from affordable housing is secured at well below market value wherever possible."
