Fireman Matt delighted youngsters when he turned up in his van with his firefighting kit.
Community fire safety officer Matt Smith was bringing a message mixed with fun for nursery children at Scotts House School, Eynsham Park, North Leigh.
After they tried on helmets and boots, he told them about the dangers of fire and simple messages like what to do when a smoke alarm went off. "It's good to introduce fire safety to them when they are young. I am making many visits to schools and nurseries in west Oxfordshire," he said.
Aldo Arbuthnott, three, and Claudia Ing, four, are pictured trying on some firefighting gear.
