Banbury's South African star Craig Haupt set a string of records by scoring a sensational 200 not out in the Home Counties Premier League on Saturday.
Haupt became the first league player to score a double century, beating the previous highest innings of 166 not out set in the league's inaugural season last year by Bletchley's Mohammed Wasim. Craig Haupt hit 200 not out
And the big Oxfordshire left-hander shared in a record-breaking opening stand of 312 with Andrew Sabin, who finished unbeaten on 101.
It beat their own mark set last season when they put on an unbeaten 220 for Banbury against Luton Town.
Despite their run-scoring feats, it was not enough to clinch victory at home to Beaconsfield, who replied with 209-7 chasing Banbury's massive 312-0.
Haupt's double ton took just 206 balls and contained two sixes and 27 fours, 120 in boundaries. Sabin hit 13 fours in his 101 not out.
Banbury's 312 was also the highest ever Premier League total, beating the 302-3 set by Finchampstead.
