Motorist Paul Magee failed to stop at a Give Way sign and collided with a Mercedes at crossroads, magistrates heard.
At Didcot court, he was fined £250 with eight penalty points for failing to stop and give particulars after the crash, and £150 for careless driving at Sheepstead Folley crossroads, Marcham, on January 21.
Magee, 40, a project manager, of Gidley Way, Horspath, Oxford, who admitted the offences, was ordered to pay £35 costs.
Helen Waite, prosecuting, said Magee stopped after the crash but failed to exchange details with the other driver.
Robin Smith, defending, said Magee had been driving from Boars Hill to Wantage and he was unfamiliar with the road.
Magee, who was driving a company car, did not want to give details to the other driver because he wrongly believed it was company policy for employees not to exchange details.
"But after thinking about it, he went to Cowley Police Station the next day," Mr Smith added.
