Green-fingered residents are preparing for the annual Thame In Bloom competition.

The organising committee has several categories for prizes involving all aspects of the town.

The competition was started 33 years ago by Thame In Bloom's chairman Len Webb.

And this year it is having a contest for the town's pre-school and primary schools for a collage or painting on the theme of flowers.

In July, judges will be listing candidates for the prizes in the small and large gardens sections, facades, maisonettes and bungalows and a special prize for the best street.

There are also prizes for school gardens, industrial, estates, shops and pubs.

Final judging will be in August.
