Audiences in fast-developing Didcot might be able to relate to a play being performed at the civic hall this week.
Didcot Phoenix Drama Group is staging Willy Russell's One for the Road, about life in the 1980s on a new housing development.
Jane and Roger are played by Vicky Metcalfe and Andrew DownThe comedy concerns two couples - the Cains and the Fullers - during a Saturday night dinner party when tensions begin to rise on the eve of Dennis Cain's 35th birthday.
Dennis, played by Keith Norman, is entering a mid-life crisis and has become fed-up with Tupperware parties and living on phase two of the estate. His snobbish wife, Pauline, is played by Keith's real-life wife, Kate.
The production is directed by Bob Philbrook, who is also partly responsible for the design of the £1,300 set.
It will run from May 24 to 26, with performances starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets, which cost £4.50 and £3.50 for concessions, are on sale at Didcot Civic Hall box office on 01235 815924 or at the door.
