A pensioners' shopping bus that had been threatened by council cuts has been saved.
The B7 Banbury service, which runs from Bretch Hill through Poets Corner to the town centre and Grimsbury, is mainly used by the elderly who have no other means of transport.
Oxfordshire County Council's public transport sub-committee had planned to withdraw the subsidy that kept the service going.
But a campaign led by Cllr Kieron Mallon and resident Tina Wren has guaranteed the future of the bus. There will be a new stop at St John's School on Cherwell Heights.
Mrs Wren organised a petition and spoke on behalf of campaigners at a meeting at County Hall, Oxford.
Afterwards, she said: "I was horrified when I heard this bus could be cut. I'm glad the committee saw sense."
