Police and licencees in Banbury are launching a poster campaign to alert people about the danger of 'spiked' drinks.
The move follows ten reports of women becoming unwell during nights out, two of whom needed hospital treatment.
Officers fear women could be raped after being drugged.
Det Con Helen Stringfellow, of Banbury police, said: "We are keeping an open mind on this because only specialist tests soon after the event can prove what was taken.
"Banbury has a lively night life and the pubs and clubs are generally well-run and safe for those wanting a good time. But we do not intend women running the risk of having drinks contaminated in this town."
Posters and notices in bars will stress that drinks should not be left unattended and will outline the symptoms associated with spiking.
Victims will be advised to see a doctor or visit a hospital. Blood and urine tests must be taken within two hours if a drug is to be identified.
