Kennington 2nd XI skipper Colin Bowerman won't forget his first game in charge for a long time.
Bowerman, 44, led the side into their OCA League Division 7 game at home to Shrivenham 2nd on Saturday and was asked to bat after losing the toss.
Half an hour later, Kennington's batsmen were all back in the pavilion having been bowled out for . . . EIGHT!
The total is believed to be the lowest in recent OCA history.
Kennington 2nd XI skipper Colin Bowerman's team were bowled out for just eight by Shrivenham 2nd in Division 7 of the OCA League
Kennnington's innings lasted just ten overs as Shrivenham seamers Bob Desmond (6-2) and James Crowther (4-5) got to work.
And it took Shrivenham opener Jeremy Sampson just five balls to knock off the runs, as Nigel Tucker watched from the other end.
Six batsmen were out for ducks, two, including Bowerman, managed to score two runs, there were a couple of singles, plus two extras.
A philosophical Bowerman said afterwards: "We had four 13-year-olds in our side but you can't blame them, it was down to bad batting.
"Take nothing away from Shrivenham, though, they bowled very well. I've never known anything like it before, but I'll be carrying on as captain."
Destroyer-in-chief Desmond, who is also a football referee, said: "It was one of those things, and the whole game was over by 3 o'clock.
"Kennington were great about it afterwards and were a smashing set of lads. We play them again in a couple of weeks time in the Osberton Radiators Cup."
The teams played a beer match afterwards which Shrivenham also won.
*Kennington figure in another OCA record - their 1st X1 conceded over 400 in 45 overs against the Lamb, Chagrove, in a league match a few seasons ago, when Derek Thomas hit a double-century.
