The first week of the Kennington Bowls Specialists Oxford & District League kicked off with storm conditions affecting the league programme.
The bad weather seemed to aid the home sides, as all visitors lost. Several fixtures were also cancelled due to flooded greens, leaving the clubs involved to share the points.
In Division 2, West Oxford launched their campaign with a win over Blackbird Leys, taking five points on the Botley green. Banbury Chestnuts showed they are well equipped to step up another division with a close win over a strong City & County team.
Despite their small numbers, OUP recorded the biggest win of the day, recording a convincing victory over Hanborough in Division 4.
