Detectives hunting a gang of robbers who knocked a policeman unconscious are following up a series of new leads after the case was featured on Crimewatch.
PC Ian Roy, 39, was attacked with a crowbar as he chased three offenders from Dillons, now the One-Stop Shop, in Grey's Road, Henley, on December 10. He had detained one of the trio but was attacked by the other two, who managed to free their accomplice and flee. The crime was featured on Wednesday night and officers received 26 calls.
Information was given about the possible identity of one of the robbers and there were reports that their getaway car - a burgundy Vauxhall Carlton - was sighted in London.
