JT/FOX Oxford Cheetahs will be hoping for a quick double when they take on local rivals Coventry Bees in the Sky Sports Elite League at the Stadium tonight (7.30pm).

Bees had an Indian sign over Cheetahs until the pair met at Brandon last Saturday, when Oxford notched a second important victory in the space of two days following their victory over Poole Pirates 24 hours earlier.

Joint team boss Richard Palmer paid tribute to the Oxford supporters for their valuable contribution.

"The vocal support for the team, both home and away, was tremendous," he said.

"The travelling support at Coventry was probably the biggest I have seen for a long time and the riders and management really appreciated it."

The promoters always expect the biggest crowd of the season when the Bees, including American duo Billy Hamill and Greg Hancock are in town, and the way things have been going, we could see the best attendance for many years.

Oxford will be at full strength, but Coventry are without Paul Lee, who remains sidelined, and will field guest Richie Hawkins.

Lee Richardson is also doubtful after having to withdraw again on Saturday through illness.

Next week sees Cheetahs contest four League matches and this run could go a long way to deciding the fate of the Elite League trophy.

The Knockout Cup semi-final, originally scheduled for June 22, has been moved back as the fourth semi-final place is still up for grabs.

Wolverhampton now visit Cowley on that date in the Elite League, with the semi-final pencilled in for Friday, July 13.

Lukas Dryml takes part in a World Under 21 qualifier at Peterborough this Sunday when Andrew Appleton also lines up at reserve.

Oxford: Andersen, L Dryml, Wiltshire, Johnston, Adams, Appleton, A Dryml.

Coventry: Hancock, Janniro, Richardson, Jonsson, Hamill, Hawkins, Robson.
