Oxfordshire make history tomorrow when they take part in the final stages of the RFU County Sevens Championship final at Twickenham.

It will be the first time that a side representing the county have ever played at rugby's headquarters.

This time last week, Oxon were struggling to raise a side for this event, which was hastily arranged after the foot-and-mouth outbreak caused the abandonment of the County Championship.

However, victories over Notts, Lincs & Derbys, Hertfordshire and Warwickshire plus a narrow defeat by North Midlands enabled Oxon to win last Saturday's qualifier at Stourbridge.

North Midlands also go through as runners-up.

Oxon have been forced to make one change to their squad of ten, with Banbury flanker Will Brooks replacing Chinnor centre Darren Oxley.

Oxon's opponents in the quarter-finals are Middlesex, whom they meet at 11.30am.

Teams are guaranteed to play at least two matches, as the losers go into a plate competition.

The finals of the two compettions are scheduled to take place between 3 and 4pm in the interval between the Under 20 County Championship final and a special exhibition game between Yorkshire and Cornwall.

Quarter-final draw: Northumberalnd v North Midlands, Dorset v Yorkshire, Devon v Hants, Middlesex v Oxon.

Tomorrow's Oxon squad: J Street, M Venner, L Smye, A Noyce (Henley), B Hopcroft, T Hurst, R Cockerton, S Viggers, W Brooks (Banbury), D Marsh (Oxford Univ).

Quarter-final draw: Northumberland v North Midlands, Dorset & Wilts v Yorks, Devon v Hants, Middlesex v Oxfordshire
