A football club is reforming after four years in the wilderness.
Chipping Norton Town FC enjoyed much success in the late 1970s, winning the Hellenic League, the Midland Combination League and the Oxfordshire Senior Cup.
But when interest waned, they stopped playing senior football in 1997.
However, chairman Nigel Harrison decided that the club should start up again, and is now waiting on the result of an AGM on June 6, which will determine whether the club will be allowed to run a first and reserve team in the Hellenic League.
"We had a very successful team in the late 70s and early 80s, and it's time that senior football was played at Chipping Norton Town again," Harrison said.
"We've got the facilities, floodlights and a good clubhouse, and got the backing of the social club, so we just wait for the decision at the AGM on June 6."
Chipping Norton are looking for a manager to take charge of the team and anyone interested in the position should contact Harrison on 01993 703319.
