A research centre has been recognised with a good working practice and training award.
The Investors in People award has been granted to the CLRC (Central Laboratory of the Research Councils), the parent organisation of the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory near Didcot.
It is responsible for Rutherford Appleton and the Daresbury Laboratory, Cheshire, both of which provide major research facilities for universities and other bodies in a range of areas from space research and lasers to genome research.
CLRC new chief executive Prof John Wood said: "An internationally acclaimed research organisation like CLRC relies heavily on the experience and reputation of its staff, and working to the IiP standard ensures that management provides an environment to nurture them."
