Liberal Democrat candidate for Henley, Catherine Bearder, says people are prepared to vote for higher taxes to get better services.
She explained her proposals for the people of Henley to a packed meeting at Wheatley.
With her was Earl Conrad Russell, who had spent the day with Liberal Democrat candidates in the region.
Mrs Bearder said: "Our policy is about fairness and freedom for the individual.
"Across the constituency, I have found people understand that there must be more investment to get better services and they are prepared to pay for and vote for that."
