David Hill, deputy director of Thames Business Advice Centre, has won the Shell Livewire south-eastern regional enterprise award for 2001.
Mr Hill is a Prince's Trust mentor, and has helped to nurse three fledgling businesses. He has also helped 12 young people to the test trading stage of the New Deal for Self-Employed programme.
The award aims to honour those making a significant contribution to youth enterprise. Mr Hill's job at TBAC involves work with the Shell Livewire programme.
He also runs one-day awareness courses for young people at the Huntercombe Young Offenders' Institution, near Wallingford.
He was presented with his award at a ceremony at the Thistle Hotel in Brighton.
