Witney finished fourth from 14 teams at Coventry's 50 metre pool on Saturday, despite being without many of their junior swimmers.

Joanne Trask was in sparkling form and two excellent swims brought victories in the girls 15 and under butterfly and freestyle to take the swimmer-of-the-match award.

Thomas Brooke-Hollidge, recently selected to swim for the county, was voted runner-up following two resolute swims in the 13/u breaststroke and freestyle.

Fourteen-year-old Chantal Clavaud's impressive backstroke swimming saw her take second place in the ladies open and a comprehensive victory in the 15/u race.

Stacey Bailes, although some way short of her recent Midland District gold medal-winning performance, still took second place in the ladies freestyle and then outstripped the opposition to win the ladies butterfly.

In the other boys events, Greg Barrett's powerful dash took him to victory in the 15/u freestyle.

Witney personal bests: Katie Faulkner (butterfly), and Sian Welford (backstroke), Simon Possee (backstroke), Keith Summers (open butterfly).
