Only three of the Oxfordshire's female athletes managed to qualify for CAU Inter-Counties Championships at Bedford.
Hurdler Kay Reynolds took part in the 100m hurdles in a 30-strong field and, on this occasion, could not manage to make it to the semi-final which consisted of 16 senior or junior international athletes.
Reynolds, who reached the final last year, recorded a time of 14.58 secs but could make no impression on a day which produced some of the fastest times recorded by British athletes so far this year.
Her training partner Ruth Clements competed amongst a strong triple jump field.
Having recently changed some of the technical elements of the event, she struggled to pull it all together and recorded only a couple of valid jumps.
But this was not good enough to make it through to the final rounds. Her best jump was 10.32m.
Caroline Smith cleared 3.00m in the pole vault, which was a good effort as she was just getting used to a new pole. It was good enough to get Oxon's only point.
