to connect with the young A SERVICE aimed at providing advice and guidance to teenagers when and where they need it has arrived in Oxfordshire.

The Connexions Service will employ personal advisers to help people between 13 and 19 to prepare for the transition to work and adult life in order to achieve their full potential.

Minister for Lifelong Learning Malcolm Wicks said: "It will help to integrate careers, health and youth services, so young people no longer have to deal with up to eight different agencies to get the support they need."

Oxfordshire, working in partnership with Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire, is one of only 12 areas in the country to have launched the initiative.

Connexions is part of CfBT, a registered English charity with 24 local careers centres. It has a contract from the Department for Education and Employment to deliver careers services in Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire and West London.
