Five teenagers have been arrested after allegedly arming themselves with sticks and setting upon a man in his early twenties.
The disturbance broke out in Church Lane, Drayton. The man was beaten and taken to hospital but police said his injuries were not serious.
Five teenagers were arrested following the attack on Monday evening. After being questioned at Abingdon police station, all five were allowed home on police bail.
A police spokesman said: "This incident was not alcohol-related and there was no racial motivation."
