Labour say Liberal Democrats are "misleading" voters by claiming they are running a close second to Tory candidate Robert Jackson in Wantage.
Robert JacksonLabour candidate Stephen Beer warned that a vote for Liberal Democrat Neil Fawcett would split the anti-Tory vote, giving Mr Jackson a greater chance of retaining power.
But Mr Fawcett said his figures were right and added: "He would say that wouldn't he."
At the last General Election, Labour were runners-up to the Tories with Lib Dems third.
Mr Beer insisted Labour had the only realistic chance of beating the Tories in Wantage. "It seems there are lies, damned lies and Liberal Democrat statistics," he said.
