Oxford City confirmed their second position in Division 1 of the Shaw and Co Oxfordshire Foursomes League with a 2-1 victory away to Hadden Hill.

Steve Webb and Paul Chana won the top match for the hosts. But City finished strongly with victories for Clive Bowler & Ian Bound and David Summers & John Stevens, who scrambled home by one hole.

With the league at the halfway stage before the summer break, City are 1 points behind leaders Ellesborough, who were held to a draw by Buckingham in their latest match.

Studley Wood lead Division 2 from Tadmarton Heath, who lost a chance to close the gap by going down 2-1 at The Oxfordshire.

North Oxford head Division 3 with a tight 2-1 win at Bicester. North lost the top match by 7 & 5, but won both the other two by a single hole.
