A PRIMARY school has become the 50th school in Oxfordshire to win an Investors in People award for its commitment to staff and pupils.
North Kidlington school, which has 340 pupils and 35 staff, was praised for its strong ethos of teamwork. A recent project has seen teachers working with parents and community members to transform a disused swimming pool into an amphitheatre.
The scheme, which will encourage pupils to become involved in drama and other presentations, was designed and funded by children and their parents.
Head teacher Paul Rhodes said: "We are delighted. The award is the result of the dedication and hard work of our staff and the support of our governors.
"Our aim was to involve all our staff - not just teachers - in the school's development and improvement.
"The process of Investors in People has helped us achieve this and has confirmed to staff that we are committed to supporting their career and skills development."
