Two new charges of child abuse have been added to the 16 already made against an Oxford teacher.
John Walker, 58, of Blackthorn Close, Headington, appeared at Didcot Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
Magistrates heard that 18 allegations of indecent assault were with boys and girls in Oxford between January 1970 and December 1989.
Magistrates ordered that the case against Walker be adjourned until June 18 in order that his defence team had time to consider the new charges.
Bail was granted with a condition that Walker did not communicate with prosecution witnesses named in each charge - who cannot be identified for legal reasons - and continued to live at his home.
