Three hundred runners braved scattered showers to take part in the 22nd Otmoor Challenge run.
There had been fears earlier in the year that the 13-mile race, which is run cross country, would have to be cancelled because of the foot and mouth outbreak. Organisers managed to find an alternative route using bridleways and footpaths around Otmoor.
Just less than 300 walkers also took part in the event on Saturday afternoon.
The men's race was won by R Shipway of the Woodstock Harriers and the ladies by S Howard. The men's team event was won by Oxford City Veterans and the Vale runners from Aylesbury scooped the women's event.
Basil Lyser, one of the race co-ordinators, said: "The race was very successful, although the weather wasn't particularly good, with heavy showers and a cool breeze."
