Highways officers are to review speed limit changes in minster lovell in the light of residents' worries about safety.
They have been asked to consider a 40mph limit on the B4047 Witney to Burford road and to install halfway refuge islands for pedestrians.
The move follows concerns made to a meeting of the county's highways sub-committee, which was asked to implement a new 50mph limit on the road.
County councillor Don Seale has suggested a pelican crossing as a long-term solution and pedestrian refuges with lighting as an immediate answer near the junction with Brize Norton Road.
More than 50 people living in the village signed a petition calling for the limit to be 40mph.
