Youth development charity Raleigh International has appealed for volunteer medical workers to join its summer expeditions to Mongolia, Namibia and Belize.
Raleigh expeditions aim to give young people the chance to work on community projects abroad and experience different cultures.
Each expedition has about 100 young volunteers aged between 17 and 25, supervised by 40 volunteer staff members. Qualified nurses, doctors or paramedics play a vital support role.
Lucy Varcoe, head of operations at Raleigh International, said: "The opportunities for medics are amazing. Not only can they get valuable experience in expedition medicine but they can lead and motivate groups of young people."
The volunteers must be medically qualified (RGN) and have one year's post-registration experience. All potential volunteer staff are asked to raise £895 towards the cost of the programme, although bursaries are available.
Any medics interested should contact Raleigh International's recruitment office on 0207 3718585.
