David Taylor's love affair with the National Club Championship propelled Banbury into the last 16 at the expense of a Knowle & Dorridge side currently lying fifth in the Birmingham League.

Taylor was in devastating form as he hammered a brilliant 188 out of Banbury's mammoth 50-over total of 363-6.

David Taylor hit 11 sixes in his ton A second-wicket stand of 156 in 22 overs between Taylor and Craig Haupt put Banbury in total charge, but this was really the hors d'oeuvres for the meat of the innings, a magnificent stand with Neil Radford which produced 144 runs in just 12 overs.

Taylor's knock ended in the 41st over, his 188 taking only 111 balls and containing 11 sixes and 18 fours, only 50 of his runs not coming from boundaries!

He has now amassed 418 runs, including 22 sixes, in three matches in the competition.

The last 20 overs of Banbury's innings produced no fewer than 225 runs!

If the home side thought they had seen the back of Taylor, they were mistaken.

He promptly opened the bowling - in case he seized up! - and had ripped out the first four batsmen before the total reached 60.

The match was long over as a contest, and it was left to Bees and Waqar to try and leave the scoreline with some respectability as Banbury march on - now just three home games away from Lord's.
