Banbury's Jamie Derbyshire took a hard-fought second place in the fifth round of the Caterham Roadsport National Championship at Oulton Park.
Starting second on the grid in his Caterham Seven, Derbyshire battled Scottish poleman Barry Horne in the opening laps in a wheel-to-wheel contest which saw the lead changing hands several times.
As the 30-minute race progressed, the leading two were joined by championship contenders Keith Robinson and Martin Gregory in a four-car lead battle.
This finally went in Gregory's favour after Robinson was awarded a ten-second penalty for over-running the chicane when being out-braked by Derbyshire in the closing stages.
"Martin Gregory drove an excellent race and deserved his win," said Derbyshire.
