Six keen amateur cyclists will be riding the length of the country for charity.

The team, which includes father and son Paul and John Campbell will be riding 1,000 miles from Land's End to the Orkneys.

This is the second time Paul is tackling the route.

Paul and John from Bicester, will be joined on the sponsored trip by Andy Zukowski, from Banbury, Robert Swala, from Kidlington and Terry Hankins and Bob Burn, both from Bicester.

Money raised from the sponsored ride will be split equally between Mencap and the National Fire Service benevolent fund.

Both Paul Campbell and Mr Hankins are part-time retained firemen at Bicester Fire Station.

Mr Campbell's brother-in-law, Jim Goggin, from Ardley near Bicester, will be driving the cyclists to their starting point on July 13 and collecting them from the finish two weeks later. They will have no support vehicle along the route.
