A family pet has been stolen from a house in Blackbird Leys, Oxford.
Thieves broke through the front door and removed a rosella parrot from its cage.
The owner, Mark Roberts, 56, of Field Avenue, said his three young children had been very upset and had "tears in their eyes" when they learned the parrot had been stolen.
He thinks thieves may have been watching the house because the cage, which was by the door, could be seen through a window. The parrot has yellow, red, green and blue plumage with a brown beak. It is 10 to 12in tall . Call police on 01865 266000 with information.
