Children are enjoying the sun in a new £17,000 village play area.
The playing field in West Hendred, near Wantage, officially opens on July 4, marking the end of a popular community fundraising effort.
The ground, beside the Ginge Brook contains swings, a climbing frame, slides, football nets and picnic tables.
Its opening follows months of organisation by four local women - Ann Harwood, Jackie Gregory, Patsy Jenkins and Nikki Wilkins.
Mrs Jenkins, a mother of two, said: "It is a very attractive green area and I think it will be appreciated by the children. It is picturesque and fits well into the village.
"It was badly needed as there was nothing like it before."
Cash for the scheme came from a variety of fundraising events in the village, donations from local businesses and a £3,750 grant from the Vale of White Horse District Council.
