All-rounder David Taylor can't wait for Banbury's next venture in the National Club KO Cup.

The big-hitting left-hander followed up scores of 140 against Loughborough and 90 against Finedon Dolben with a blistering 188 on Saturday to bat Birmingham League side Knowle & Dorridge out of the game.

Taylor's assault was staggering.

He thrashed no fewer than 11 sixes and 18 fours in his whirlwind innings off 111 balls, and only 50 of his 188 were not boundaries.

He put on 156 for the second wicket with Craig Haupt - no slouch with the bat himself - and then 144 with former England seamer Neal Radford.

The last 20 overs of the Banbury innings produced 225 runs as the fifth-placed side in the Birmingham League were simply blown away.

Chasing an impossible target of 363 off 50 overs, they managed 183-6 in reply - after 'that man' Taylor had opened the bowling and taken 4-33 from his nine overs.

Not a bad day's work.

Banbury scorer Keith Brighton admitted he had trouble keeping up with Taylor's antics. "It got a litttle bit hectic at times, but we managed to cope," he said.

Next in line for Banbury, and Taylor, in the last 32 are Home Counties League rivals High Wycombe at White Post Road, with a provisional date set for Sunday, July 15.

And Banbury will be out for revenge, having suffered a seven-wicket defeat against the Bucks side in the league a fortnight ago - their first league reverse in 11 months.

Wycombe also beat Banbury, who have never gone this far before, in the National KO two years ago.

The winners face a home tie against either Finchley or Wanstead in the quarter-finals.

6th round draw: Dunnington v Ayr, Harrowgate v Bramhall, Chorley v Wickersley Old Village, Sefton Park v Wolverhampton, Bath v Havant, Banbury v H Wycombe, Finchley v Wanstead, Cheam v Saffron Walden.
