Pub regulars are in training for an annual feast of fitness and fun.

Drinkers at the Plough pub in East Hendred, near Wantage, will be lacing up their trainers on Sunday for the hostelry's popular fun run.

The run follows a three-and-a-half-mile course through scenic East and West Hendred and attracts runners from as far as Yorkshire.

It is followed by a barbecue and an afternoon of live music.

This year's event will be the tenth anniversary of the run, and a bumper turnout is expected.

Landlord Bill Sheehan said: "We usually get over 150 runners turning up, some from as far away as Doncaster.

"Many have been coming for the past ten years."

The native Irishman added: "They come for the run, the music and the craic."

The run starts at 11am, with registration taking place before 10.30am.

All runners who complete the course receive a medal.

Trophies go to the first male, female, boy and girl under 16, team, and pub regular.
