Children from schools around Didcot took part in joint workshops ranging from arts and printing to dance and drama.

The seven-year-olds from Hagbourne, Blewbury, South Moreton, Chilton, Long Wittenham and Harwell, spent the day at Harwell Primary School where they worked under arts teachers and advisers including David Odwar, who conducted a pottery workshop.

Marilyn Thomas, who co-ordinated the project, said it was the first time the local federation of primary schools in the area had held the event.

"We thought it would be something the children could look forward to after completing their tests," she said.

She said the children and teachers benefited from getting together for the joint project.

An exhibition of the children's work will be held at Didcot Library.
