A vote of no-confidence against the officers of the Oxfordshire Football Association was convincingly thrown out at an extraordinary general meeting at Pressed Steel last night.
The north division representative, Dick Offord, with the backing of the Lord Jersey FA, got the required 13 per cent of member clubs to call the meeting, claiming the organisation was being run "in a dreadful way".
But the claims were thrown out by 48 votes to seven.
"Hopefully now we can concentrate 100 per cent on developing football in the county," said OFA secretary Ian Mason.
*The OFA are renaming the Oxfordshire Junior Shield after John Fathers, in recognition of the work he did for the OFA before he died earlier this year.
