Betting took a new turn in Blackbird Leys when punters helped raise £458 for cancer research.
About 50 people turned up to bet on the charity race night organised by Jason Rawlins, deputy manager at Ladbroke's in Blackbird Leys shopping precinct.
The money was handed over to the charity's area fundraising manager Nicola Hunter.
Mr Rawlins said: "We had lots of people turn up from the local community.
"They were able to keep their winnings and we have given what we made from the event. I did it for personal reasons. My gran died of cancer and I wanted to do something to help with the research.
"I'm very pleased with how much we made."
