Improvements to bus services have been introduced despite increasing recruitment problems.

A bus on Oxford's High Street In March this year, The Oxford Bus Company held a consultation surgery in Cornmarket Street, Oxford, inviting the public to say how they felt services could be improved.

The major changes are:

** Route 35 - Abingdon passengers can now connect directly with London services as the route has been extended to Queens Lane and High Street.

** Route 4 - the Rosehill to Botley service has an extra bus added to improve reliability of the service.

** Route 6 - the Wolvercote evening and Sunday service now runs every 20 minutes.

** A new service direct from Templars Road, Cutteslowe, has been added to the timetable in peak hours and an extra bus in the afternoons.

The firm has introduced new improvements and services to the county.

These include:

**Route 50 - a new service which will run between Oxford, Chipping Norton, Shipston-on-Stour and Stratford-upon-Avon, every hour from Monday to Saturday, and four times on a Sunday.

**The Oxford Tube, an Oxford-to-London service, will offer free Thames sightseeing trips.

Commercial manager Phil Clark said: "We are looking to bring in more changes but have to put them on the back-burner at the moment because we do not have the staff to implement them."

Oxfordshire's other premier bus company, Stagecoach are also experiences recruiting difficulties.
