Mothers and their children breathed a sigh of relief on Tuesday after a parcel, which they had been told they would not see until September, was delivered, allowing craft sessions to go ahead.
About 90 children at the week-long playscheme at Kings Meadow Primary School, Bicester, were left without craft supplies after a parcel was diverted by Parcelforce.
Carol Hobbs, Sandra Parfitt, and Alice Hobbs, 18 months, watch as James Parfitt, seven, and Matthew Hobbs, seven, try to see what is in the box.
Playscheme organisers were told that because the parcel was addressed to the school, it had been sent to a Reading depot and would be stored until the school reopened.
About £700 worth of goods left the craft company on Friday, using Parcelforce's 24-hour delivery service.
A spokesman for Parcelforce apologised and said the company would be happy to discuss a compensation claim with the playscheme organisers.
