Sharper looks, handling and specification are highlights of the 2002 Subaru Legacy and Outback estates which start from £16,750.
Already recognised for their space, ride comfort, sporty handling and all-wheel drive security, the revised 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0-litre range is available in time for the new September registration change.
Subaru's 2002 model year Legacy saloons - offering similar improvements - are expected to arrive at the turn of the year.
All Legacy and Outback estates feature a sophisticated new 'face' thanks to 'double-deck' headlamps with sharper contours and three-dimensional multi-reflectors, with circular indicators inlaid in the main unit.
Also new are larger grilles and redesigned front and rear bumpers for a more distinctive look with the Legacy estate and Outback having different designs.
Compared to the original 1999 model year launch cars, the Legacy 2.5 GX now has colour-keyed side rubbing strips and ten-spoke alloy wheels.
Both the Legacy 2.0 GL and 2.5 GX have plusher interiors with two different, high-quality cloths for the seats and doors.
